Thank you to all the writers who've taken part, all your stories were great. And thank you to the 6 readers who voted, it's much appreciated.   Writers you may now cross post your stories wherever you wish.

Our winner for this round is jolinarjackson who's story The End of the Line had a score of +1 votes.  So very well done, and as winner of the round you get an extra skip to use if you need to.

Sadly we'll be saying goodbye for now to  firesnap who's The Dangers of Tinkering finished the round with -1 votes. It was a very tough round with lots of good stories, and so few votes separating highest and lowest scoring.  Maybe we'll see more your stories if you chose to join again when we have our next round of sign ups in August.

I've made a table with the results of this round and the skips writers have left here at google docs I will update as part of the results post each round.

Use the post if you want to talk, discuss or otherwise chat about your fics for this round. You can ask for additional feedback in this post if you wish. (The voting feedback - the text, but not who gave it -  will be PM'd to you all shortly.)

Prompts will be up at their normal time tomorrow, but there will be two extra days of writing time (Stories due Sunday rather than Friday) because Independence Day is midweek, and because skips can't be used for round 1-5 as the winners of that round go through to the final.

Ahh. I knew when once I read the others that I was done. Well, that and spotting tons of errors in mine after all the stories had been posted.

And, kids, this is why you shouldn't try to turn your stories in ten minutes before the deadline. That's... kind of funny considering the prompt.

Congrats to everyone and I look forward to reading the rest. I also hope we can start getting more people voting. :-/

I enjoyed "Dangers of Tinkering". I thought it was cleverly done and showed an interesting side of Jack that we don't usually get to see.

I wasn't able to vote last week and looking at the results I don't think my vote would have changed the outcome anyway. But I wanted to let you know you had another fan out there. :)

I always find it a bit unsatisfying when there's so few votes and so little differences between the scores :(

Still! Well done everyone!

Any feedback on Ending would be appreciated :)

I was a bit disappointed by the number of votes this time too, but overall I thought it was a great round. Well done, everyone! :)

I think you mean Independence Day is midweek? Unless you are referring to a Thanksgiving as celebrated in another country, in which case I am sorry other country!

No, you're right that should say Independence Day. Really not sure where my brain was at. I'll get it changed.

Heh, no problem. I just had a panicked moment where I thought I had managed to COMPLETELY forget the date. I'm normally a day or two off, but I thought I'd misplaced the summer. :)

I regret missing the voting last week. I was on vacation at a restored Victorian hotel that seemed hell-bent on providing an "authentic" experience by withholding Internet access the few times I was able to steal a moment to get online. At one point, I could see the stories, but not post any comments--very frustrating!

I'm back in civilization now so things should be better going forward!
